We are Professional Lawyers offering a confidential and friendly service, both to our online and local clients.
We have made our most popular services available online due to demand, but we also offer a range of other services.
Our Services Include:
Single Wills – anyone over the age of 18 can make a Will
Mirror Wills - A pair of Wills which reflect the wishes of each other. Most suited to married couples or couples in a Civil Partnership
Mutual Wills - Which contain a legal agreement not to "revoke" the Wills after the death of one party.
Living Wills or Advance Directives - Many people wish to have a document drawn up which will take effect whilst still living but which sets out certain medical treatments which can or cannot be administered.
Protective Will Property Trusts - Wills which contain a trust which protects the family home from residential care fees or for protection of the family home on a second marriage
Powers of Attorney
Safe storage of your will - Wills are stored in fireproof safes protected by insurance for £2 million per will. We are also members of Certainty who have set up a Wills Register for members of the legal profession who offer storage of Wills. See www.certainty.co.uk for further details
Advice for the Elderly - We can offer up to date advice in a sympathetic and confidential way. Deborah is a full professional member of Solicitors for the Elderly. Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) is an independent, national organisation of lawyers, such as solicitors, barristers, and legal executives who are committed to providing the highest quality of legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers. Full professional members are those members of the legal profession that have been qualified for at least 5 years and spend at least 50% of their time advising older clients or have been qualified for 10 years and spend at least 25 % of their time doing such work. An exam must be taken if entering membership at this level.
Severance of Tenancy - This is required if a "protective property trust" is required and the title deeds are held in joint names as beneficial joint tenants. In order to pass a share of the property into a trust it is necessary to convert the title deeds to “tenants in common”.
Discretionary Trusts - Can be set up within Wills for inheritance tax planning or for other purposes
Assistance with probate matters - Including assisting with obtaining a Grant of Probate. If a person died “intestate” (without making a Will) and you need help, we can help. If an estate has a property or assets valued at more than £10,000 and made a Will, usually a document called a Grant of Probate is required from the Probate Registry. We can assist with this.
